Thompson Mahogany Company Receives SmartWood Certification
Philadelphia, PA – Thompson Mahogany Company was recently awarded a SmartWood Chain of Custody Certification. Established in 1843, Thompson Mahogany is an importer of tropical hardwoods. Thompson Mahogany will now be able to place the SmartWood seal of approval on the certified wood products that are sold by their company. Their SmartWood Certification will apply to the lumber produced from trees harvested on certified forestry operations, primarily in South America. With over 25 imported woods on hand, Thompson Mahogany carries one of the largest inventories of imported hardwood lumber, decking and flooring in the United States. The company also operates a wood shop for custom manufacturing of flooring. Wood products sold by Thompson Mahogany are used to make furniture, architectural millwork, flooring, decking and musical instruments.
As a SmartWood certified company, Thompson Mahogany is demonstrating to customers their commitment in promoting environmentally friendly forest products.
